The new certification requirements and the demand of high data applications in CAT6 and CAT6a structured cabling systems; make testing performance of patchcords more important than ever before as has become the weakest link in a network.

Despite being the patchcord a very common element in any structured cabling system many times its performance is overlooked and how it affects the total performance of the network where they are installed. It is clear that not all patchcords are made equal and many of the available options in market are at least inconsistent.

Using patchcords that do not meet performance specifications of CAT6 /CAT6a standards will cause intermittent failure and network crashes generating drastic performance drops and even real network downtimes.
